  1. Three page handwritten letter to twenty year old Belle Drach dated 25 Mar 1878 from an F. Bartholow who signed it "cousin". The address of Bartholow is 4 Wyoming St., Boston Highlands, Boston, Mass. Page 2 of letter. Page 3 of letter.
  2. Obituary of Baltis H. Kennard in 25 Sep 1907 issue of the newspaper of Frederick, Md. "The Daily News". It is simply my opinion that Baltis penned so many kind words in memory of others. It's truly a shame that noone informed society at his passing that he had voted to end slavery in the state of Maryland.
  3. Mention of Baltis H. Kennard in 1886 newspaper of Frederick, Md. "The Daily News". Baltis is listed as a pallbearer for Jehu B. Askew, a gentleman he served with in the state of Maryland's 2nd Constitutional Convention in 1864.
  4. Baltis H. Kennard, delegate to Maryland's Constitutional Convention of 1864. An oration before the House of Delegates re: the draft of Article 4., 8 pgs. in length. It gives insight into the battle of ideas during the Civil War.

  16. Deed Dated April 1, 1852 which transfers property to Martha Curry, Nancy Wright, Mary Roberts and Samuel A. Lauver. According to one of the obits on Mary Belle Drach's father, Hanson M. Drach, M.D., she was married to a Charles Lauver. Since my grandmother had this and other documents in her possession, I might guess that Samuel was Mary Belle's first father-in-law.

  17. 11 July 1844 Adoption Paper for adoption of William N. Martin, orphaned son of Nathaniel Martin, by Samuel A. Lauver. William's name became William A. Lauver

  18. Ad for Wm. D. Kennard's Ship Broker & Commission Agents company in Balto., Md. The ad appeared in the 1878 Baltimore City Directory. William D. Kennard (19 Sep 1855 - 7 Mar 1936) was the son of Baltis H. Kennard.
