This is the family tree website of BJ Peters. Some of the more interesting documents on the site are a series of letters written by Dr. George Brainard Todd, seen in the banner above, and some of my other ancestors. One of Dr. Todd's letters is written to his brother telling of his eye witness account to what occurred in Ford's Theater the night President Lincoln was shot. Look for it on the Swain Todd Treasures menu off of the Documents menu. The letters have been kindly shared by my cousin, Sandy Goll of Baltimore, Md.

DISCLAIMER: Please know that the information listed on this site is constantly growing and changing. I strive to be up-front about any conflicts in information and to present the varying views fairly. I will of course, offer my own opinion. That too can change as new information is found.

This is a first for the STTS site, as I have never promoted a business in the past. However, recent events move me to do so now. I was contacted by someone browsing our site that commented how easy it was to navigate the family tree. She asked what program I used to create it. I went about looking for a copy of Sierra's Generations Grande Suite that she could purchase. I discovered that Sierra no longer produces or sells the cd, but had sold the rights to genealogy.com. One thing that impressed me about TWR Computing is the fact that I could buy a back-up cd of the program without the many cd's that accompanied it in the past, and their products get shipped FREE by air. Know that the Generations CD is listed as 19.95 pounds, and the cost in dollars is about $40 in Feb 2008. The company was quick to communicate with me, and is more than willing to answer any questions you may have regarding sale of their products. I have nothing to gain financially or otherwise by recommending this company to you.

It is to my ancestors and those who came before me who were dedicated to researching my family lines that I dedicate this site. It never ceases to amaze me how unselfish others are as they offer to help piece together my family tree.

It is sad to know that there are countless relatives that we may never come to know through public record. Those that raised their families in a loving home, who never achieved recognition in the world's eye, are invisible to our eyes as well. To those individuals who formed the backbone of this nation, I offer my gratitude. I must also offer my thanks to my ancestors who had the courage to come to this country while it was still a wilderness. What bravery and determination they had to muster just to make that long journey across the Atlantic Ocean.
