Point of Interest: You'll notice that at some time after Daniel had written out the family tree someone came behind him and added the names Benjamin Crane and Mary Backus to the top of the page in pencil. We might assume that it was the same individual who wrote in the date of Daniel's death.
Document's History: Mr. Gary W. Nelson of Gibsonton, FL had purchased this hand-written family tree dated 20 Aug 1825 ten years ago at a Goodwill store in Sun City, Florida. The frame in which the document sat had broken glass. He stored it in his desk since that time, and had decided to try to locate a descendant of the Crane family. He did a search on the internet and found our family tree website. He contacted me, BJ Peters, by email in mid-October of 2008. After speaking on the phone with me, Gary offered to send the document so that I could pass it down through my family. It is by this incredibly generous act that you see the scan of its front and back below.
