201 Pg. 475 His religious affiliation was Anglican. He was a representative in the Lower House, representing Kent Co., Md. 1700 (elected to 4th session). He stood 3 times as an unsuccessful candidate for burgess 1701-1708. He had inherited 11,000 lbs of tobacco from his fth, Thos. Hynson. At his first election he owned at least 250 acres; 150 acres from his wife's dower. He owned 6 slaves at the time of his death.
His brother, Thomas, mentions him in his will: Hynson, Thomas, Talbot Co., 14th Dec., 1678; 29th July, 1679. To eld. son Thomas at 18 yrs of age, plantation, "Hynson's Town," and 150 A. belonging thereto. To son William at 18 yrs. of age, residue of land, 150 A., belonging to "Hynson's Town" afsd. To son Richard at 18 yrs. of age, 150 A., "Hynson's Hills." To brother Charles, testator's portion of 200 A. on w. side Chester R. To wife Anne, execx., 1/2 of all personalty, and privilege of remaining on plantation. To younger child. (not named) residue of personalty equally. Test: Ja: Courcey, Jas. Treahy. 9. 107.


242His will was drawn up 10 Jul 1703 and probate date was 6 Nov 1711. It states: To son Thomas, personalty, and if he marry during life of his mother he is to settle over the Creek on "Father's Gift"; he to be with said mother during minority. To daughter Dorcas, personalty. To son Charles and heirs, "Hynson's Chance" on Graysen's Creek; he dying without issue, land to revert to son Thomas; he to live with his mother during minority. To daughter Margret and youn daughter Jean, personalty, including cost of schooling. To wife Margret, executrix, personalty. Testator further adds "the plantation I now live upon need not be mentioned because otherwise ordered by the will of Thomas Boon and deed of gift of father Harris. Overseers: Father William Harris, John Wells, Robt. Dunn. Test: James Hollis, Edward Jeames, Henry Nowland. 13.385.
