Brief Mentions of Various Moseley's of America & Abroad

Benjamin MOSELEY, "a physician, born in Essex, was bred to the business of a surgeon and apothecary, which he pursued several years at Kingston, in Jamaica. On his return to Europe, he took his Doctor's degree at Leyden, and by the interest of Lord Mulgrave, obtained the situation of physician to Chelsea Hospital. He gained some credit by Observations on the Dysentery of the West Indies; and Two Treatises on Coffee and Sugar; but disgraced himself by his virulent opposition to vaccine inoculation. He died June 15, 1819." Source: A Biographical Dictionary: Comprising a Summary Account of the Lives of the Most Distinguished Persons of All Ages, Nations, and Professions ..., , authored by Rev.
